A free, public reception to celebrate the exhibition takes place during the monthly First Thursday Art Walk which runs from 5-8 p.m. on July 5. As part of the Thursday evening reception, at 6 p.m. master printmaker Sam Carr-Prindle will give remarks and make an award presentations. Awards will be given to the prints Carr-Prindle single-handedly deems to be exceptional pieces of art. Those selected pieces will receive special recognition as well as a cash prize. A Santa Barbara native, Carr-Prindle specializes in intaglio printing (etchings) and earned his bachelors in fine art from the Rhode Island School of Design before becoming a master printer at Paulson Fontaine Press in Berkeley. Carr-Prindle now works at Crown Point Press in San Francisco.
