Inés’ monotype, “If I Were Too” was awarded Best in Class (for printmaking) in Angel Open 2022, the latest show at The Artists Gallery (TAG). She began the piece on the ghost of another monotype, developing the image over multiple passes through the press. In her words “as is often the case, I did not have a clear purpose, but the image developed into a struggling but not fallen angel”.
The gallery, located at 5458 Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, was founded in 1993 by artists as a non-profit arts coop. The show ran December 21 to January 6.
